Driver App Privacy Policy
At IRONCOR, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information of our drivers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and safeguard information through the Ironcor Driver mobile app, including the location data recorded while you are on an active shift.
Last updated: July 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Ironcor Trucking Ltd. ("Ironcor," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information through the Ironcor Driver mobile application (the "App"). This policy applies specifically to the App and is separate from any privacy policy governing our website.
By creating an account and using the App, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
1. Who this policy is for
The App is provided to drivers who perform work for Ironcor as independent contractors. It is used to record work shifts and location during those shifts. The App is intended for use by adults (18 years of age or older) engaged by Ironcor and is not directed to the general public or to children.
2. Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to operate the shift-tracking service:
a) Account information
Your name
Your mobile phone number (used as your login)
Your account password (stored securely and never visible to us in readable form)
b) Location information
Your device's GPS location (latitude, longitude, and related data such as speed and accuracy).
Important, background location: While you have an active shift running, the App collects your location periodically even when the App is closed or running in the background. This is required so that your route and driving activity are recorded for the full duration of your shift.
Location is collected only while you have an active shift in progress. When you are not on an active shift, the App does not collect your location.
c) Shift and driving activity
Shift start and end times
Routes travelled and distance driven during shifts
Hours-of-service information used to support driving-hour compliance (e.g. daily and weekly driving limits)
d) Device and technical information
Basic device and app information needed to deliver the service and keep it secure and functioning correctly.
e) Ticket photos and documents
After a shift ends, the App lets you submit a photograph of your delivery/trip ticket. You can either take a new photo using your device's camera or select an existing image from your device's photo gallery.
You can do this immediately when the shift ends, or later by opening the shift in your History.
When you use this feature, we collect and store the image you submit and any information contained in it.
The App accesses your camera and/or photo library only at the moment you choose to add a ticket photo, and only for that purpose.
3. How we use your information
We use the information above to:
Verify who is on shift and record shift start/end times;
Record and display the route and distance driven during a shift;
Support driving-hour (hours-of-service) compliance and safety;
Record and verify delivery/trip ticket photos that you submit for a shift;
Allow Ironcor's administrators and dispatchers to view live and past shift locations for operational purposes;
Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the App.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your location for advertising.
4. Consent
When you first use the App, you are asked to consent to location collection as described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us (see Section 10) or by discontinuing use of the App. Note that because location tracking during shifts is essential to the App's purpose, withdrawing consent means you will not be able to use the App to record shifts.
5. Who we share it with
We share your personal information only as follows:
Ironcor administrators and dispatchers, who can view driver locations and shift history for operational purposes.
Service providers who host and process data on our behalf, in particular our backend and database provider (Supabase), solely to provide the service to us, and under obligations to protect the information.
When required by law, such as to comply with a legal obligation, regulatory requirement, or valid request from a government or law-enforcement authority.
We do not otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties, and we never sell it.
6. Storage and data outside Canada
Your information is stored using cloud infrastructure that may be located outside of Canada, including in the United States. As a result, your personal information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions and accessible to their courts, law-enforcement, and regulatory authorities. By using the App, you acknowledge this cross-border storage. If you have questions about how your information is handled outside Canada, contact us using the details in Section 10.
7. How long we keep it
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, to meet operational and safety needs, and to comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Detailed GPS location points are kept for the period needed for route review and compliance and are then deleted or anonymized. You may request deletion of your information as described below, subject to any records we are required to retain by law.
8. Your rights
Under the Personal Information Protection Act (Alberta) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you;
Request correction of inaccurate information;
Withdraw consent to our collection and use of your information (subject to Section 4);
Ask questions or make a complaint about how we handle your information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 10. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including secure authentication, encrypted connections, and access controls that limit who can view driver data. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access.
10. Contact us

11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. If we make material changes to how we handle location or other personal information, we will take reasonable steps to notify drivers through the App or by other appropriate means.
